The Ideal Person

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to work independently
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as documentation skills, to include solid experience in deploying software and writing functional procedures.
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience with using the following: Microsoft products: Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Visio
  • Experience in customer support environments
  • Must have a power user knowledge of the Unix/Linux Operating System.

The role

As an Application Support Specialist, you will:

  • Use change management day-to-day
  • Use incident management day-to-day
  • Use project management day-to-day
  • Troubleshoot distributed applications
  • Focus on day-to-day implementation and support of the company's trading systems.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships
  • Act as escalation point from first line support that troubleshoots problems by responding to daily broker/trader application trouble call request.
  • Writes scripts using Shell, Perl, Powershell and SQL to automate installation, monitoring and gathering of relevant data that serve as tools to check the health of the system.

Desirable criteria:

  • Powershell scripting -would be an advantage.
  • SQL
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Unix/Windows user skill set.
  • Change Control Process.
  • Ability to follow and give directions precisely.
  • ITIL.
