Livestock Handler

VANRATH are hiring an experienced Livestock Handler to work for a Public Sector Environmental Scientific Organisation.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience with animals or who is seeking to build a career in animal welfare or research.

Salary

£22,550 + Holiday Pay + Pension + Discount Benefits from Day 1

Responsibilities

  • Husbandry of livestock (pigs)
  • Includes feeding, weighing, maintianing cleanliness of unit
  • Data recording, health and welfare checks
  • Reviewing performance data

The Ideal Person

  • Experience working outdoors, hands-on with animals.
  • Enjoys working with animals.
  • Good physical fitness
  • Background in animal welfare or similar.

Working Hours

  • Temporary basis - minimum 3-6 months with extension opportunities

  • Monday - Thursday 0800-1620
    Friday 0800-1410 (There is flexibility in these times)

  • Overtime opportunities for a few hours at weekends on a rota basis
