VanRath have been appointed to recruit a General Manager for a leading and successful logistics company located across the UK. Reporting to the Managing Director the role will Head up the Management team supporting the business on achieving their strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities Lead direct and control the operations delivering significant improvements in profitability, service levels, and safety performance In conjunction with the Financial Controller prepare, develop and execute the budget, with primary focus on profitably growing the business. In conjunction with the Sales Director prepare a sales plan concentrating on new business and the development of existing business Deliver first class customer service levels with regular communication to help improve relationships Report to the MD on Financial performance against plans and budget, highlighting variances and corrective actions Improve administrative performance Ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations and industry standards/codes Plan and ensure the development, training and succession of key managers
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a senior position within a similar industry. You will have a proven ability to demonstrate extensive operational experience and success. You will have an ability to build, lead and participate in effective problem solving teams with an ability to motivate and integrate business and operations.
